Income Generating Activities

Together with National Forestry Authority – NFA, PLAFU carried out sanitisation to its communities on the importance of conserving environment while planting trees as an economic factor. This activity was aimed at promoting an income generating venture to those who had some pieces of land and we also encouraged those who did not have to partner with those who had or borrow to pay back when the project yields results.

Charity Drive

We have organized different charity drives to empower communities. We have visited different hospitals, schools &markets in spirit of supporting the unprivileged communities. Platform for the unprivileged - PLAFU a registered CBO identified the need to adopt a similar project for the unprivileged population in the greater Kampala slum areas of Uganda and Wakiso. In 2019, we established a similar project under RESPONSES We have a commitment to a Corporate Social Responsibility to our communities in need. Our response includes disaster recovery programs to those hit by destruction of nature like earth quakes and floods. In this we work with other aid relief entities to provide temporary shelter, food and water including and not limited to medical supplies. We also have a program of painting zebra crossings in roads so that we help to reduce road accidents. From time to time depending on the need we respond accordingly to address the problem through our Corporate Social Responsibility.

GIVING HAND

ORGANIZE to HARMONIZE. The first week of February is officially recognised by PLAFU as the Organizational Giveaways Week (OGW). This is done to get closer to the community we belong. This year’s theme is “Love of God and Love of the Neighbour,” the universal commandment of love and harmony. In this way, the message invites all people with a moral conscience to be involved whether they believe in God or not. PLAFU, with similar objective joined the world to commemorate this week. Giving a Hand to Unprivileged Children

Alongside our dear and esteemed partners, donors, associates, well wishers and funders, we have organised an activity just like we do every year to reach out to the unprivileged children going to school. We maintain a sizeable number of needy children in school while we help provide them with academic incentives like scholastic materials and also help them develop their talents through programs we do alongside our partners. We also have more activities we encourage back at where they come from. We empower their care takers for those who still have them with small activities that can yield financial returns. We hope to expand this project further to more regions and so everybody is invite to come on board.
